About Us

Aaron joined Klein Volunteer Fire Department in 1998, and in 2001, he began his career with Houston Fire Department. Over the years, Aaron has held several ranks such as Lieutenant, Captain, Senior captain, and District Chief with Klein Fire Department. In 2016, Aaron promoted to Captain with Houston Fire Department.
Aaron developed his love for woodworking as a young firefighter when he spent many years as an apprentice learning how to build and remodel homes with his Captian, Lee Oursler. Lee owned a home remodeling & construction company in Houston.
Aaron met his wife Judy in 2012 when she began the recruit academy with Klein Volunteer Fire Department. Aaron "accidentally" missized Judy's bunker gear, and she had to come back to exchange. Aaron made up for his mistake by asking Judy on a date. In the summer of 2014, Judy & Aaron got married, and a few years later, their son Andrew was born.
Fire Axe Customs began in the summer of 2018 when Aaron purchased his first CNC machine. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business when friends & family started requesting plaques and signs. It then grew to firehouse tables, commercial tables, and gear cases in the following months. Within less than a year, Fire Axe Customs was getting large orders from local fire departments. Aaron upgraded his CNC machine to accommodate larger-scale projects, and in June 2020, Fire Axe Customs website went LIVE!
Fire Axe Customs is based out of Spring, TX (30 minutes north of downtown Houston).
